Autumn Trip: Photo Dump 🍁

Every year I think that I can’t love this season more than I already do, yet every new autumn convinces me otherwise. Is it possible that it becomes more colorful, beautiful and marvelous with every year? Cause it definitely feels like it.

This year a little dream of mine came true and I had a getaway trip during autumn. Words will fail to describe how gorgeous everything looked. But luckily I took lots of photos, so hopefully they, along with my descriptions, will be able to convey the atmosphere of this memorable trip.

I was extra-lucky with the weather, as it was mostly gloomy, rainy and foggy, and I truly believe that the moody and cloudy sky is the best compliment to this season (well, to any season, if you ask me). Grey makes a great contrast with yellow, orange and burgundy trees, highlighting their lush vibrant colors and emphasizing their immense beauty.

The fog covering the tops of the mountains was yet another magical phenomenon that I encountered for the first time. It made me feel like I’m in the Twilight movies and that something mysterious and supernatural will happen any minute now.

The next prominent part of the trip was going on a hike to find the remains of an old church that was built in the beginning of 13th century. We got lost throughout the way, but it made the journey even more fun and remarkable.

There were also remains of khachkars (traditional Armenian carved memorial stones) and an antique graveyard and it looked straight from a mysterious film I’d usually watch. It was situated in the woods and the stones were all covered in moss. It felt so peaceful in there, with the sound of raindrops falling and crows croaking. I could stay there for hours, reading a book and enjoying the soothing energy. But it was far too cold even for me haha.

I loved the wooden swings and little houses in the territory, they made the place feel like a fairytale. Especially the tree-house and the open library (the one on the bottom left), where you could take any book you liked or even leave a book yourself.

While I was there I truly wished I had the ability to stop time and enjoy the “autumn wonderland” a little longer. But I guess that’s what life, or at least this season, teaches us – to live in the moment, appreciate its every minute and not be afraid of letting things go, cause when something lasts short, you cherish those memories more than if you had all the time to yourself.

  2. Thanks for sharing your get-away with us. It looks like a very magical place. What were your accomodations like? Lovely photos. There are lots of trees with autumn colors where I’m at…yellow, red, orange, gold and just driving through neighborhoods to get somewhere or run errands I thank the trees for their beauty. It feels like I’m on a trip through Vermont, or some other area known for tourists showing up to see the fall beauty.

    • thank you, glad you enjoyed it! It was a little cottage, and the best part was that it had a windowsill with a great view, so whenever I wasn’t outside, I was sitting there and enjoying the magnificent view😍 I’m glad that you’re also enjoying the autumnal nature! 🍁

  3. Thank you for describing the beauty of the autumn you saw, and the photos to accompany those vivid descriptions.

In the fantasy book I’m writing, the season is the end of autumn moving towards winter. Your descriptions in word and picture form here help me to see things that are useful to give readers a picture, but still leave enough space for their imagination and creativity to blossom more than the words I can put in words on the page!

How are you finding yourself so far in 2025, after a few more seasonal changes?
