Hogwarts Houses Pt. 1 💛♥️

In 2018, I got an idea to make a post or a video with the aesthetic of Hogwarts students. Every year, around autumn I wanted to accomplish my idea, but somehow something always got in the way and I postponed it to the next year. Instead of considering it as a fail, I saw a better chance, because with every new year, I got some fresh, brand new ideas and new props, that will make this project much more interesting. And now I think, if I’d done this in 2018, like I originally wanted to, I’d have missed so much. So hence a little lesson for you-everything happens for a reason, and everything has its time for happening. Even if you don’t see it at first, even if you get irritated at your plans being canceled, it’ll still turn out the best way for you. Okay, let’s move on from the philosophical part.

If you haven’t known yet, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. I got acquainted with this story when I was around 7, and grew up with it. As a child, I often used to play that I’m a Hogwarts student. Well, nothing has changed, except that instead of actually playing, I love dreaming and imagining that I study there. I’ve always considered my house to be Gryffindor, but later I realized that since I have a split personality, I also have a big side of being a Hufflepuff, which now makes sense. So I guess I’m a mixture of those two. A Gryffinpuff probably, or maybe a Huffledor.

The idea of this project was to find 4 different places, dress up as a student of 4 houses and try to convey that wonderful and dreamy atmosphere of those unique houses. Hogwarts of course is about magic, but it also has some proper “dark academia” vibes. So combining these two together, I got the perfect inspiration for this colder season, which for me is the best for both magic and academic atmosphere. I think I’ve rambled on for too long, so let’s finally start with the first part of this little project: Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

Gryffindor

House Colors – Scarlet and Gold

Animal – Lion

Traits – Courage, Bravery, Determination, Chivalry, Nerve, Daring

Element – Fire

You might belong to Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry Set Gryffindor apart.

Gryffindor is the most known and loved one among all the houses, as the main characters are from here. Gryffindors are usually courageous, have a strong inner will, are very stubborn and have a great sense of morality.

As I mentioned earlier, since childhood I’ve considered myself a Gryffindor, as I’m very stubborn, I love adventures, having fun and taking risk. And moral and principles are very important for me. I’ve always had an admiration for Fire signs, and only a couple of years ago I found out that my moon and rising signs are both Fire (Leo and Sagittarius). Mystery solved.

For Gryffindor’s place, I chose this little abandoned park with an old fountain. It reminds me of the photo of James and Lily (Harry’s parents), who are both Gryffindor. This has been a favorite place of mine, because I always got a feeling of magic in here.

Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are proud to present…
Some Gryffindor attributes- the house scarf, Marauder’s Map, and of course magical wand

Hufflepuff

House Colors – Yellow and Black

Animal – Badger

Traits – Patience, Hard-working, Fairness, Just, Loyalty, Modesty

Element – Earth

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil.

Hufflepuffs are very royal and friendly. They value hard-work and a fair attitude towards everyone. They’re also very patient and don’t like bragging or showing off.

Throughout the time, when I studied all four houses more attentively, I noticed lots of Hufflepuff traits in me. Probably even more than Gryffindor ones. I’m very patient and dedicated to my friends and family. I love everything and everyone to be fair, I hardly ever get angry. Plus I’m an Earth sign (Capricorn).

For Hufflepuff’s place I pick a park around an old greenhouse. Sadly the greenhouse was closed, and I couldn’t do my photoshoot inside. This place was perfect for Hufflepuff, because they’re earth sign, their head of house is Hebrology teacher, and their common room is situated near the Hogwarts greenhouses. And of course nature is quite important for this house.

When thinking about this house, I remember the book “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them“, as its author, New Scamander was also a Hufflepuff
